"This elegant Fifth Avenue landmark, pre-war, one-bedroom apartment has views of the Central Park boat pond from every window. We were able to gut the apartment, so I had a clean slate with which to work a little magic, making a small space feel spacious and comfortable.

We made built-in storage benches under the windows with maximum seating to enjoy the views. I shopped with the client at the Antique Show at the Armory, where we found a wormy chestnut screen and turned it into a wall of doors that give an old-world charm and texture to the living room. The biggest challenge was the kitchen.

Although small, our design team was able to accommodate all necessary amenities and then some, including a sliding pantry, a cabinet-faced sub-zero and appliances, and a fold-down under-cabinet TV. We were also able to transform a utility closet into a powder room with shower."
